KissFist Mural Fest

Deaf culture takes center stage at KissFist Mural Fest. But this second annual NoBo arts bash is about more than celebrating the community — organizers say it’s also about paying mural artists a fair wage for their work while creating a third space that is “fun, family friendly, and accessible to people with disabilities.”

This volunteer-run blowout funded in part by a grant from the Boulder Arts Commission takes place Sept. 18–20 at the NoBo Bus Stop Gallery, featuring ASL interpreters onsite for a weekend of live art demos, makers’ markets and a whole lot more. The best part? Admission is free to the public, with the majority of every donation supporting artists from the deaf community. See listing for details.

Peak to Peak Studio Tour

Looking for a taste of local art at altitude? The Peak to Peak Studio Tour is where it’s at. Launched by our sister outlet The Mountain-Ear in 2023, this annual fall tradition offers the chance to see the creative process up close and personal, as local artists open their studio doors to the public all across Nederland and the Peak to Peak region — from Allenspark to Central City, to all the communities and canyons in between.

This year’s event features more than 20 galleries and local artists, from the stained glass works of Sally Van Der Kamp to the vivid wildlife paintings of Laurence Delaunay. Whether you’re in the market to buy or just want to build a deeper connection to the creative community around you, the Peak to Peak Studio Tour has got you covered. Check out the map at bit.ly/StudioTourTME. See listing for details.

Community Roots Arts Festival (CRAFt)

What started as "an intimate house warming idea" to showcase a friend's acrylic paintings has blossomed into the vibrant culture extravaganza known as Community Roots Arts Festival (CRAFt). This annual celebration of creativity and inclusion uplifts artists of color with an open-air market, live performances and more than 50 art and food vendors at Boulder’s VisionQuest Brewery, Sept. 19–20.

Waiving fees for participating artists and vendors, CRAFt keeps the focus on equity by paying performers, sharing profits and providing free professional headshots, business cards and other promotional materials for artists. Entry to the festival is free, but tiered suggested donation levels get you perks like a CRAFt-designed tote bag and raffle tickets for a chance to win original art and experiences. See listing for details.

Art at the Center: Fall Show & Reception

Since 2009, Art at the Center (AATC) has served as a visual arts hub for Ned heads. Tucked inside the Nederland Community Center, this local gallery space has served its mission to "highlight and support Nederland's image as an emerging artisan center."

You’ll see plenty of creativity on display during AATC’s annual fall exhibition and reception on Oct. 1. Featured artists will be onsite to talk about their work, soundtracked by live music and featuring food and drink options from local vendors. Deadline for submitting digital entries is Sept. 14. See listing for details.
