Furlings Fest
10 a.m. Saturday, June 6, Miner Street, Idaho Springs. Free 

Looking for a new four-legged friend? Stop by Idaho Springs for a community bash featuring adoptable pets from local shelters, plus dog-friendly activities, vendors, live music and street games — plus beer from Tommyknocker, Cabin Creek and Westbound & Down.

Cocktails & Crochet
4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, The Old Gallery, 14863 Colorado Hwy 7, Allenspark. $TBD

Looking for something that's "knot your average happy hour"? Get crafty at Cocktails & Crochet. This monthly event at the Old Gallery in Allenspark gives attendees the chance to enjoy libations and fiber arts while taking in the local visual artwork on display.

Madam Lou Bunch Day and Famous Bed Race
12-5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, Main Street, Central City. Free to attend; $300 race entry 

Get paid to lay in bed … sort of. Bed racing has been Central City’s signature sport for more than 50 years, a celebration of the businesswoman who saved the town during an epidemic. The race starts at 3 p.m. sharp ($500 cash prize) but this all-day celebration also features live music, a costume contest and parade.

Mountain Herbalism Walk
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, Mud Lake Parks & Open Space, 2034 Co Rd 126, Nederland. $35

Join herbalist and nutritional consultant Brigitte Mars for a summer day in the mountains identifying native herbs and other medicinal plants. Mars, who teaches herbal medicine at Naropa University and the School of Health Mastery in Iceland, will leverage nearly 50 years of experience to show you how native herbs can be used for first aid, nutrition and more.

Stills in the Hills
1-6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, Main Street, Central City. $60-$80

Experience the land of miners and moonshiners the way they intended: drunk off your ass and stumbling down Main Street. Downtown Central City transforms into a giant speakeasy for this annual gathering of Colorado’s most legit craft distillers. Sip, savor, repeat and compete in a costume contest. Details and prizes TBD.

Founders' Day
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 27, Gregory Street Plaza, Black Hawk. Free 

Dress in your best period attire (think bonnets, pocket watches and bowler hats) while you shop artisan and food vendors, pan for gold, enjoy live music and a whole lot more at Black Hawk's annual Founders' Day celebration. Thirsty? Don’t forget to grab a commemorative Founders' Day Beer, brewed special for the occasion. 


Downhill

Cultural Caravan
June 4-14, multiple locations in Boulder, Lafayette and Erie. Prices vary.

Looking for a music festival that's not your average fare? This 10-day extravaganza features more than a dozen concerts in unconventional spaces across Boulder County. The festivities begin with a kick-off block party at the Read Queen Bookstore in Lafayette, followed by more than a week of pop-up and MainStage concerts. Full schedule at culturalcaravan.org.

Longmont Pride 
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6, Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak, Longmont. Free

It's the loudest, proudest time of year as Longmont Pride returns for another round of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. Bring the whole family (chosen or otherwise) to this annual summer bash featuring live performances, food vendors, giveaways and more. And, of course, don't miss Boulder Pridefest on June 13.

Queer Circus
7 p.m. Sunday, June 7, Junkyard Social Club, 2525 Frontier Ave., Suite A, Boulder. $23

Life is better under a big top, if you catch our drift. Join Rocky Mountain Equality's "wildest Pride celebration" at this annual 18+ cabaret-style show featuring local LGBTQ+ comics, dancers, poets, musicians, entertainers and performing artists — all hosted by local comedian (and Caribou Current cover darling) Ren Q. Dawe.

Lyons Laughs Loud + Proud
7 p.m. Friday, June 12, The Wayback Bar, 430 Main St., Lyons. Free 

What’s so funny about LGBTQ+ pride? Head to the Wayback Bar in Lyons to find out. This queer comedy showcase featuring killer stand-up acts from around the state promises a night of sidesplitting comedy for members of the community and allies alike. 

Summer Vibes Rally and Festival
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 20, Bohn Park, 199 2nd Ave., Lyons. Registration fees vary; $15 to attend

Celebrate Summer Solstice weekend with the return of Summer Vibes Festival. This community bash in Lyons features four different bike and running events, like a 50K Gravel Bike Rally and Trail Run Relay. Don’t feel like getting your heart rate up? Enjoy live music, kid-friendly activities, lounge pools, weekend camping and more. 

Youth Pride
5-8 p.m. Monday, June 22, Equality Center of the Rocky Mountains, 3340 Mitchell Lane, Boulder. Free 

Pride isn't just for grown-ups. That's why the Equality Center of the Rocky Mountains is hosting this youth-focused celebration featuring free food, fun games and "a fierce Dragstravaganza" for all ages. With LGBTQ+ young people facing increased hostilities and declining mental health outcomes, celebrating tomorrow’s queer leaders is more important than ever.
